The Annapurna Circuit - November 2006

In November 2006 we went with World Expeditions on the treck round Annapurna. We followed the usual route in an anti clockwise direction with a variation at the start taking us over lowland ridges to Beglungpani.

Above, is a panorama taken above Manang. You will need the Flash plug in to view. It should be slowly rotating. Use the buttons to zoom in and out and press the right hand button for a full screen view. Slew around with your mouse.

The map to the right shows the location of the Annapurna Range with reference to the Indian Sub Continent and the Himalaya. The image was derived from NASA's World Wind.Click the slideto the left for the show of photos taken on the trek.

Click the mountain below left to see more renderings, photo comparisons and animations of the terrain around Annapurna as well as the actual route as recorded on GPS.

Below is another panorama taken at a lunch spot near Pisang. Click the right hand button for full screen. And below that is a Google map of the area with the GPS route shown in red. This is a standard Google map so you can pan around, zoom in and out and turn on satellite view.
