Marpha Panorama

previous
next

This is a cubic panorama generated at the thirteenth camp at Marpha on the Kali Gandaki. The initial view is looking downstream with Dhaulagiri (8167m) on the right. Behind can be seen our trail decending the valley through Jomosom where the trail crosses the river. To the south east is Niligiri (7061m)

Use the buttons below the view to change camps. Alternatively, go back to the map.

All these panoramas were rendered in World Construction set 6 with a landsat overlay. The data is 90m DEMS patched by Jonathan de Ferranti (see "Rendered Hills" page).Use the mouse to swing the camera around and <Shift> and <Ctrl> to zoom in and out. The buttons along the bottom allow for these actions as well as auto rotate and the button to the right will give a very good full screen view, in this mode use the buttons for zooming. IE does not seem to handel this as well as Firefox3. The compass in the top right also shows the field of view. The path lines are derived from GPS tracks taken at the time. Blue was morning and red afternoon.

The output was generated with Pano2VR from Gardengnomesoftware.
